Heh, I never thought I'd have something decent to post here.

My first model. I used RUCCUS's Wings3D tutorial and made some changes. Admittedly, I did use the Smooth function, but I honestly think it turned out okay.

Other changes I made were to indent the palm and add small bumps to the fingertips. I'm modelling it off my own hand.

Go easy. Again I honestly think that this once, the smooth tool turned it out to be okay.

One thing the hand looks like a alien I haven't seen a thumb that close to someones tip of another finger.

Slim down the fingers and move the little finger more on top with the other fingers rather than the side.

Looks pretty good Kyle. A few points of advice though in addition to the others. Try to remove the polygon belmish in the center of the hand that you can see clearly in the Z view. I'm not saying you shouldn't have a vertex there, but make it less twisted up. Also, the wrist is thinner than the rest of the arm/hand. But like you said it's a WIP. You probably have that worked out by now =]

EDIT: Link isn't working for some reason, just google 'wireframe hand' and see what pro ones look like.

Hey thanks for the advice, I've made a few modifications to it to make it a tiny bit more natural.

@ Sid Sinister I still have the hand blemish there at the moment, mainly for indenting the palm.

Yea thats the word I was looking for, mesh. Maniac is right, it doesn't flow well. Thats what I was talking about with regards to the blemish too. Where did you start on this hand? Like what area? The palm?

I started with the Forearm (a cube). I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the mesh not flowing too well.

Yeah the fingers do need to be alot longer.

TATBS 1.8 is now fully functional. Brilodis is having its districts extracted to Battle City. Krina and Karin are twice the size. And you’ll see 5 times as many breeds of monsters... It’s Kalspher V3.

I think the fingers are OK, they just look a little webbed. So bring the in between parts down, so... that would make the fingers longer

I think thats a reasonable hand howevr I think the "X" view needs a little work still, It looks a little too flat and needs a little more shape but not much. Though this may have been corrected by looking at your last picture post.

I was always taught that you should spend 3 times the amount of time looking at what you are drawing/ modelling that actually drawing/ making. It works for me.

Lol, thanks for the feedback. I've been working on a bit more, trying to get the thumb a bit more proportional to the rest of it. I also shortened the pinky considerably.

The pinky seems to come out of the hand at an angle and straighten out, if I look at my hand it seems quite straight compared to thhe rest of the hand.
Perhaps I have mutant hands.

All those using the old version of this image must change to this image immediately.

That looks very realistic now
INH is right about the "pinky" looks like he broke it at some point
Also, fingers aren't totally straight they bulk out a bit at the knuckles. Damn, hands are hard
Can you post some better angles of it please.

Well you have to model the basic parts of the clothes, and use Zbrush add creases and folds. Look at Jon Flecters drunkard in his fantasy thread.
