I was just curious what program you use for modeling. I have maya, and I can make some somewhat okay models, but then I can't figure out what to do after that... since it won't seem to export out to .x and even if I got there... I am not sure what to do after that..

Thanks

Well if you have paid all that money for "Maya" then you should make your payment worth it and do a lot of research.

For low price FPSC and Dark BASIC media packs.

I have the direct x plugin.. but I have problems exporting it, and when it does work... I am not sure what to do after words.

I see alot of tutorials for rigging and modeling using 3d studio max and cinema 4d.. Has anyone on here written a step by step process for making entities in maya and exporting them out to be uv wrapped and rigged.

(I have tried he search) btw

I created a box model in Milk shape and exported to .x using milkshapes .x 8.0 export tool I did not bother to create a texture as this was for testing purposes. I duplicated one of the other box's fpe and placed in the information regarding my new .x and created a graphic for representation within FPSC. I restarted FPSC and the new model is not showing up.

Do any of you have any ideas or should I ask this is the 3d chat section.

I did a search on milkshape, but most of the stuff is over my heads or not relevant.

Thanks

use entity maker, it is free off the fpsc site. I makes it easy to import your .x models.

$7000 and i think thats for the non-commercial version

TATBS 1.8 is now fully functional. Brilodis is having its districts extracted to Battle City. Krina and Karin are twice the size. And you’ll see 5 times as many breeds of monsters... It’s Kalspher V3.

you can export .FBX from maya (which supports skin, bones, mesh and IK) and you can import that into milkshape. Then export as .x

if you're too lazy to figure out what to do then, just get entity maer, or the TGC entity maker from the FPSC download page, on the homepage.

Maya is incredibly powerful, and I couldn't do ny of my stuf without it, but you have to bear in mind it can be a little Highend of FPSC.
