3D editors are somewhat of a mystery to me. I have downloaded several trial versions of some editors, but am finding the documentation confusing and I guess it is just that there are a lot of new concepts to try to take in all at once. So, perhaps those of you who are more versed with 3D editors could share with me your thoughts.
Which of all the 3D editors do you find to have a good balance between all the right features and less intimidating interface?
Do you think there is any certain editor that is easier than the others to learn the basics on? Even if it means having to use an editor that lacks the power of other editors. I would not mind spending time learning the basic theories of 3d editing on a weaker editor, and then switching to a more robust editor after becoming versed in the basics.
Is there any one certain book you would recommend or website you can point me at that you believe has the best tutorials, examples and other information that is geared towards absolute beginners to 3d object design?
I saw a post that is now locked referring to Google Sketchup, and that sounded somewhat intriguing. Has anyone used this? I'd be curious as to your opinions on this.
I would really love to become fluent with 3d objects creation as I just recently got DBPro and FPSC. and frankly, if I spend a lot of time creating a game, I want to have my own original 3d content for it. Not to mention my site is going up soon and I really would like to know a lot more about the art of 3d design so I can keep up with conversations on the topic! LOL
Thanks in advance,
