hi, I've got a bit of a problem with blender...
I exported a .x file with it which went fine untill I went to exit the exporter bit. It crashed then , but I wasnt too worried, my file was exported so I thought I'd just load the program up again. BUT now when I try to start it up, it crashes, and I get the 'encounterd a critical error and needs to close' message. I've tried uninstalling it and installing the latest version, still no change, it was working fine before, when I did get the latest one and after I'd installed it and it gave me the option to 'run it now' it worked, but then crashedwhen I tried to import the .x. and now wont start up again.

any help would be apreciate
thanks
RichMan

blenders direct x importer dus not work well, the only thing in the laitist vertion is the sss shader. witch isn't rilly nesoserry for game medaling. if a previous version worcs, use that. there have been afew threads on BA about stability problems. make shore you have the laitist c++ redistributable. you may want to wait for 2.45, witch should be out soon, its a bug fix relese

learn blender, you will never regret it.

Export suzanne. If it works fine, the probem is in your mesh. If it does not, the problem is in your computer. For solutions, you might be interested in posting this in the Blender forums, where there will be more people with experience and technical knowledge to help on solving rare problems like yours.

Things that may cause problems when exporting: outdated Python, wrecked rig and wrong normals. But I had never heard of this problem until now.

Edit:
I did a quick test, and everything is working well. Could you post the .blend, please?

You are welcome.

Everything is well here, dude There is something wrong with your PC. Are you using the latest version of Blender? (and in any case I recomend using the "archived version" instead of the installer)

Uninstall Blender and Python; run a register cleaner (CCleaner, for example); reinstall Python; unpack Blender. Try to export your model. I am not the expert at technical aspects, so I may be talking stupidity. So post this in the Blender forum as well.

Your model is attached if you need it.
