Okay, i have never made a model in my life but would like to make some enemies, guns, places etc. for FPSC. I have google sketch-up. Can i make them with this? If i have to i could download enitity maker/ segment editor(also, what do these do?). So could someone please give me some advice on getting started modelling with these tools, or explain what other (preferably free) software i would need?
Thanks

Even better blender*hint hint* You can do more on blender then you can on Anim8tor. Anim8tor is too basic. Go here for Blender!!

I think you should try both and see which you prefer.

Spend 2000 on maya. If you are a college student you can get it at studica for only 350 something.

Blender is a pain
milkshape is to basic

btw, I just started modeling... but don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain.

I'm an AC3D fan!

It's not free, but you can try it out for a while before deciding.

@ Jeremiah:

Did you ever give Blender a good try? I find it really easy and really powerful. Look at this render one of my friends made:

Well, I will also advise you to get Blender. Just start with something more simple (like crate or barrel) and read a few tutorials as well.
Good Luck!
