Just wanted to share this feature in the X10 editor. The attached image shows:

Max range (grey) the character can walk to
View range (blue) that the character can see
Attack range (red) when the character engages the player or enemy

Makes it a lot easier to setup levels with this.

Wow, that'll be really useful!

One thing I want to know is, will characters HAVE to use waypoints? Or will we be able to use the walk range, for example, to just set them a zone in which they will navigate randomly? This would be extremely useful for doing things such as populating city streets with civilians.

Yes, you can edit the ranges live by pressing [,], Shift+[, Shift+, Control +[ and Control +]

Or just edit the values in the parameters section.

Thats incredible, you can finally have restricted areas (sort of) without the need for triggerzones

OMG OMG OMG! that is soooo cool thanks for sharing that rick maybe in the upcoming video we could see them in virtual life?

P.S. I know this will probably never happen but do you think the stock guns could get hands added to them for X10? Maybe a generic black glove or something and keep it the same for all the MP's so you can use any mix of weapons and still keep any weapons you want. Maybe you could have 4 other different hand textures or so like zombie, alien, bare arms and hands and fingerless gloves? This would be great and make all the MP's compatible. Also you could use a hand mesh and texture(s) for it. PLEEASSSE?

So the will the view range move with the character? Or will it only be able to see inside that area, if it did, then the total area it can see is the
π(M+0.5V) where M is the diameter of the max range and V is the diameter of the view range.

I think.
