I couldn't wait for x10 before I was this, now the anticipation is near killing me!
And were they ACTUAL LASERS I saw coming from what sounded like the plasma pistol?!

They are lazers! When we finally complete this project we'll spend some time making some great levels, for now I have do what I can in the time I have around the various bugs that still need fixing!

Absolutely amazing!!! This X10 is surely 100% worth its money. The movie was absolutely perfect and the song fit in it. Hope to see more vids soon.

Rick I just watched the video and I was wondering, can the characters sense if the is an object in front of them? Because the part where the Allies and the enemy went at it, the conker walked around a box to get a akio and it seemed that it wasent just a random movement.

We all want to be awesome, but does awesome want to be us?

Characters can sense any static objects (non moving), they will also avoid a pile up of corpses. Dynamic objects will get kicked out of the way. Characters can find their way to you even up and down levels - you just have to add in waypoint lines at the start and end of stairs.

This is so far the best video about FPSC X10 I've ever seen, mainly because it wraps up like all the features into one thing!

Edit: So, enemies will find their way around everything except stairs, and will only use waypoints put on the stairs to get up and down from it?

rick do you know if there will be outside support or at least something that will stop games lagging when using outside areas. (Really didnt know how to phrase that)

and the final question that has been bothering me :/ Is the water level constant througout? or can we make levels in which one room is full of water and a room parallel to it is not, and say room 2 had a window, if destroyed would the water flow through?

Also hard to phrase that

X10 is starting to look really good, the ragdoll physics really shone through in that video :/

yeah im wondering about this too

it would be a shame if we couldnt have a pool, then go down a couple layers into the basement and its filled with water cause the waters constant throughout the lvl

I saw it and I am pretty sure I saw the "true" ragdolls that we've all been requesting.

These look fantastic! I now have my brand spanking new machine (Duo Core-3Ghz, GeForce 8800 GTX-768MB, 2Gb mem), all I'm missing now is Vista... and it looks like I may now be forced to buy that

I agree 100% Great video. I hope there is a download link for this video in the newsletter because not only would I like to see this in even higher quality, but I'd like to have my own copy to watch when ever I want. Or where ever I'm at for that matter.

WOW! that video had everything I wanted to see. And it re-whetted my appetite for X10! I loved the allies and are those tracers!?!?!? I think X10 will be the best indie fps development engine if it wasn't for the high system specs. Maybe some more tweaking and bug bashing are in order Oh and maybe you could make a "no water zone"? You simply place them like a normal sound zone and the segment(s) covered by the zone have no water? Oh yeah and thanks for showing off some projectile weapons, I was getting worried...
*Slayer_2
P.S. The level design is much better now
P.P.S. how did you get in ghost mode and will you be able to do that in the final version, to make cut-scenes for your game maybe or to explore your levels without having to play them? that would be sweet!

Lookin' good, Rick.

I would change the name though, because the name "FPS Creator" sounds like a noobish engine with limited capability, and X10 looks like a big step from the original.

How about, uh, FPS Composer?

Nah I think FPSC is the best name. Simple and clean(like the song says). It creates FPS games. (I liked the pro idea though). Oh and composer means making songs

Absolutely fantastic !

dont know what i liked most...but i think one of the last scenes,
where you changed the water height and all crates dropped to the ground.

the refraction was impressive too. wondering if this is done
over shaders or if its some kind of raytracer.

definitely going to buy, BUT !!!!!...:
please add bloom and Ragdoll Physics to X9

yeah...thats the ticket !

Oh yeah I found it, thanks. Like the looks a lot like the Quake 4 DMG I hope it shoots a fizzing plasma rocket and is included in stock media! Maybe it will use the same tracers as the blaster sort of like a hyperblaster,

pfft. mines bigger

Not finished yet (easily noticeable where) and im still having a bit of trouble with the transparency over the plasma type effect going on in the center of the gun.

Ah well maybe slightly bigger than the DMG but I trust that it does basicly the same amount of devastation? And let me guess those aliens are passive right? What type of sky is that? Maybe it's called Flash Blinded? I hope it shoots some massive rounds there cause I'm looking for a super weapon for my sci-fi X10 game
*Slayer_2
P.S. It even has those 3 little pistons under the end of the muzzle the DMG has only 2 of those though.
