My modeling program allows for various types of polygons to create objects. There is an option to triangulate. I can load both triangulate and untriangulated models. Is one preferred over the other by DBP? and why?

Thanks for the help

normally, when models are exported to .x they are automatically triangulated. it just means they use triangles instead of squares. in cinema 4d and, i'm sure, other modelers, the thing to view the poly count will do it in squares, so it's best to triangulate to get the true poly count.

thanks to deathead for the sig!

Thanks Blobby. I use C4D, and even though I use the xporter, I don't know much about it, other than it works well
