Though Wings is just a modeller and not a full 3D package - this means it exports for 3D purposes and not into game engines that use the .x file format - you'd need to refer to other applications for use of the .x file format such as Milkshape 3D, Blender, Softimage|ModTool or less indie orientated 3D packages.

But Wings is a great free 3D modelling tool, I think it's best used with Milkshape 3D on its side.

Yes, I believe wings3d version 98.32a has had the .x format. Just go to wings3d website and download the latest version(98.36).
