How do i map more than 1 limb. I can map them individualy but i want to have everything on 1 texture map, like for example, I made a tree and i could map the trunk and the top(leaves) sepretly, how do i put it on 1 texture map so i only have to apply 1 texture to it, sorry its so confusing but im kind of a noob at this.

If you spent all that money on 3ds max then you can access the autodesk forum, they will be much more help.

This site helped me out quite a bit with that same question. It sounds like you an I are at the same level with that John. I'm still trying to figure out how to uv wrap something I made. I intend to look at it more tonight and tomorrow and I'll try and share what I learn from that in this thread.

I also found this a little helpful... but it uses Deep UV. You can download a demo version it from Right Hemisphere's site. I don't really like it that much because I find 3DSM 9 has some really great tools. I didn't really take much time to learn Deep UV though so I guess I don't know it's potential yet. Everyone seems to love it though.

if you have max, you don't need another UV mapper.

if i need to put 2 limbs on one file, i layout one limb, then generate the map, save it and then apply that map to the next limb i want to place on the texture, you can then pick which texture to use in the UV unwrapper and line them up.

All that's needed is a bit of lateral thinking.

I don't have a sig, live with it.

in the modifyer panel there is an unrap uvw tool that you can use and then go and use flatten maping and and manually arrange the polygons. personally i use zbrush for texturing and max for modeling for max questions. www.turbosquid.com has a great forum base for max and is a huge 3d marketplace to boot

me is no can spell
