Please don't lock this, must read first

I have a model made in milkshape (a Benelli shotgun) and now I wanna add a texture, but I have a problem I don't have any texture (continue reading...) ok my question its NOT how to add texture, wich UV mapping program should I use or How to fit the texture in the model.

My questions its how Can I extend the model in 2D to load it in photoshop to PAINT the texture and make it from scratch.

I had been searching but I didn't found anything

PS: sorry for the title

i think you need an app to unwrap the model and generate the uvmap that you can then paint on in a paint app, and save the file as a texture image.

dont quote me, I havent learned uv mapping and texturing yet

My DBP plugins page is now hosted [href]here[/href]

I think you mean you use MSPaint to texture?

But dark donkey is right, you can use MS3D's texture coordinator to make a UV map. Just select the polygons you want to map, and hit CTRL+T. Then you can position those polygons around on the UV map. The only problem is that MS3D's texture coordinator does not export UV maps in an image format so you can paint on the wireframe. Basically what you have to do if you're only using the texture coordinator is make a texture first by estimating how you want your polygons to be laid out, assign the texture to the model and then use the texture coordinator to fit the wireframe to the texture. You pretty much have to do the process in reverse-order, and that's why I'd suggest getting something like Unwrap 3D that can export the UV map... at least I think it can. o.O
