Hi! I am at the end of developing a game in FPS Creator but to make it
in the way I wanted it to be played I had to break down the levels into different .exe files so I am wondering if someone knows any application which allows you to select a level of your choice directly from it. Thank You!

Well, I am looking for a program in which you could select the desired .exe file and launch it. I want the program so that the person playing my game could start the game right from the desktop otherwise I have to put a folder on the desktop containing all of the .exe files. Thanx!

That's all well and good, but how are you going to stop the player from being a bit devious and selecting the exe with the final level in and playing that one first?

Well, my game is based on different missions so the player doesn't really need to follow the order I've created them in. All of the levels have different aspects which challenge him and even though you have a pretty reasonable point that it may be better when one of the levels is completed the next one to appear in the menu, I don't think it's possible so I really need this not so complicated software to ease the player.

It's not that hard to do. Before FPSC had a save/load system, I created a menu system like this for DarkFaction. To keep the player from accessing the levels (missions) out of order, I used a program called ExeWrapper to password protect each exe. The launcher would pass the password to the mission exe after the player "discovered" the password during gameplay.

It's not necessary now...or so I thought.

TH other thing i once saw was a game that scattered the levels with unimportant names throughout your hard drive. You had to play the level to discover where the exe was for the next level. Obviously, uninstallation wasn difficult seeing as each was given a random three letter name, and never in the same location. I can't remember what it was called though... something like "search running"

I thought about placing the exe files throughout the hard drive before and I will definetely check ExeWrapper. Wow, you really helped me. Thanx!

When you spend 6 months, a year or whatever creating a game with a storyline, you kinda want people to go in order.

Well, anyway we began to go a little bit off topic because I was searching primary for a launcher. To explain better with an example I was looking for a launcher similar to the one in DOOM Collector's Edition. The typical box for a non ported PC game appears with the settings but it also gives you the chance to choose your desired level. I really wanna the people to be able to choose their desired level form one place only so if anybody recommends me similar program I will be grateful.
