I've searched the forums but theres not a converter from .max to .x without owning 3dsmax. Basicly I have a free character model from turbo squid thats fully rigged and animated and game ready but it's in .max. Please help!

Too bad mate tehre isnt one. Its very hard to write a converter from a .max file if you google you might find some info about .max just beeing a file containing lots of macros like:

make cube
extrude face 1 for 500
dont

Wich a converter would literally be using the same power as 3dds max and if some one could make that they could probly make 3ds max them self.

Sory man.

Shadow: If you send it to me I'll convert it for you. Just zip it up real well and upload it to a file hosting site and email me the link. Since you say it's a free model I don't think there will be any problem with this.

Well, .x file is a model & uvw coordinates, and .max is also lighting, materials, texture preferences etc.

I don't think he'll want that anyway seeing as he will want to insert it into a game where all of that changes... the only thing that you will probably miss is the texture/material. Your going to have to redo that (I think). Panda Exporter for 3dsm has some nifty functions, I might be able to grab some material/texture that way. Either that or UV Wrap it and try to get it to you that way. But I suck at that

Yes, but so it's impossible to convert it to .x outside max...
