FPSC Classic Models and Media / "Render to texture" using 3ds max 7

hi

someone that can help me with a step by step tutorial, about how to render to texture in 3ds max, "maybe some screenshots of the settings"

i had made a box and appleyed the 2 textures "Metal001_d2.tga" and "Wood001_d2.tga"
The metal texture on top and buttom, and the wood on the sides.

so my problem is that, when i export it out as a .x file i got 2 texture files. and thats bad, because i can only specifi one texture when i make an STATIC entity out of the box.

so i need some help to render these 2 textures down to one sigel texture, and get it appley on the box. so when i export it out as a .x file i only have ONE sigel texture file.

hope someone can help me out

if i paid that much for it, i would get all i can out of reading my manual first then contacting the official tech support ; they have great over the phone people.

Download chilliskinner and texporter plugins for your version of max and then take a look at some of the online tutorials for those e.g.

just dont specify a texture in the fpe.

The object has to be dynamic then though, static entities are more efficient.

hi thx mates for all the posts, i had meshed a round with it. and now i got it to work, i will post a tutorial later on, how i got it to work.
