Is it possible in 'any way' to use .gifs for the level lightmaps? as standard they are .dds I think the highest setting dds, though you can export the lightmaps out and convert them to the lowest setting dds files, well I want to go further, I want the smallest files I can get which would be a 2 colour giff, is this possible in any way? Perhaps with the source code perhaps?

No FPSC doesn't support gif at all, otherwise you would find people doing crazy things with animated gif's. (Something I would love to see in 1.08! Hint Hint!)

That leads me to a question that was on my mind, animated skyboxes, does fpsc support that, using animated textures, you say gifs are out, but what about using a naming convention, giving the textures specific names so that it can animate, ie play textures in sequence.

So there is no way for any animated textures in fpsc in any way, not on segments, entities, characters, not on anything at all?

Best you can do currently are animated decal-entities. Very simple "animation" is possible by swiching between 2 alt.textures of an object, but with 2 different images the result won't be that amazing.
