Here I am again. This time its a 2D thing. At the bottom of my screen there is two waer images, scrolling to give the effect that your moving horizontally accross the screen (yeah, this is just basic, but its already caused havoc). There is also a Mouse cursor sprite. The mousesprite is loaded, but looks like someones taken the spray tol in paint andsprayed on it with black (it looks fragmented now!) however the image is fine in paint?? also, one of my water images is coming up with like a dashed black line along the top and bottom of the image. Trouble is, i want these things sorted before I can continue. Changing the look of the image doesnt help, restarting the pc didnt help and well frankly im stumped!

Are you adding the extra ,1 to the end of the load image command to stop dbpro filtering the image?

Maybe it is a problem with sprite transparency. When you load a sprite, it is automatically made transparent. Try using this before you load the image:

Where r,g,b are red, green, blue color values not in the image.
If the transparent part of your sprite is the same color as other pixels in the sprite, change some colors by a few rgb values. YOu could also try using set sprite to take away the transparency.

If that dosen't work, as the_winch said, add a ,1 to the end of the load image command.

I was using image command (with one on end) also tried sprites, maybe i should try your suggestions but the images are speccly. bu two out of the five sprites on screen are okay. however each sprite has the same settings? so why are 3 of the sprites affected and two are fine?

I tried set sprite - didn't work
I tried set image colorkey - no luck
I tried it in DarkBASIC 1.13 (DBC) - worked 100% perfectly!!!!!!!

This evidence tells me one of two things:
DBpro Is still quite buggy,
or
Or my graphics settings are either wrong or something along these lines!

Also, im using cls RGB(0,0,40) to create a dark blue background color, and DBpro wont do that either???????????

I am seriously wondering why DBPro Is causing probs but DBC isn't??

Im also using latest patch for DBPro!!

The mouse is 20x20. the two other images are 640x20

This code works perfectly in DBC so im out of ideas!!

Couldn't upload the images for me could you? If you have nowhere to upload them, then email me them at [email protected] or [email protected] if they exceed hotmails 1024k (1MB) limit, and I will upload them for you for others to view/test.

WooHoo - I found the problem (phewwww!!!) It turns out to be a color depth problem with dbpro. the program is set for 640x480 exlusive 16 bit mode. the images are 24-bit. This produced my scrambled images (for some reason??) however in dbc is fine. Change mode to 640x480xTruecolour exclusive and it works fine now. Just working on GFX Now - Game should be ready in month or so . Its maybe a thing for rich to include in the next patch??

I too think there is a problem with 16bit mode. Since Patch 4 or 4.1 I cannot texture large objects anymore without them looking naff. Running in 24/32 bit mode and no problem at all.

Something is wrong now with 16 bit mode, I don't know why it was working fine before. Alot of people have complained about it. And, DBpro is still has way to many bugs, shame it's not open souce maybe some of the more creative users could build some patches for it.
