Excellent, some really good models being shown today. I like bare feet. There one way you can see if an artist has an eye for detail.

Looks really good. Are you using Nurbs?

As far as criticism goes, I think the foot may be a little too long, but it could just be the angle you took the screenshot at.

There just seems to be something wrong with the transition to the ankle... I'm just nor sure what. Maybe the problem is the ankle is too small around? Ah well, Hessiess is good at what he does. I'm sure he'll get it

It looks a little swollen.

You might want to take off some of the excess, and make the ankle/foot transition a little sharper. Maybe accent the bones as well.

None the less, it looks pretty good.

Quote: "I could never do the stuff you do"

i bet you could, its not that hard, just make the edges folow the skin/ musssle flow.
the only other thing rewired is a basic understanding of poles and edge loops, but you will work this out for yourself, if the topology is bad, the model looks bad

Well the faults aren't that noticible and it might be just me but doesn't the top of the leg look a little fat compared to the other parts of it, 'cause if you look at the leg it seems to be belonging to a muscular person, and a muscular person probably would have the top of the leg a little bit thinner, but it may just be me.

The only thing that stands out to me as being mostly at fault is the shape of the toes, from the front they still look very tube like. I dunno about the rest of the human population but my toes are fatter at the tip and thin out towards the joints.

Yeah thefoot now doesn't look as swollen when you added the leg good work!
Although if you want a challenge I would suggest to add some hanging fat to the leg, as I never really see that on models, all I see is perfect bodies when I look at human models and I would really prefer to see some fat on there.

i may add a soft body to the leg to simulate fat movement the leg is for my carictor, witch i have been working on for at least 4 months! i spend so long tweaking my old models that i very rairly start anything new

i have noticed that the toes look bad on the full leg render, i will get some more refrances and try to make them look correct

thanks allot for the comments, much better than i would get on blender artists, normally don't get any/ few i have found the community here to be genaraly verry halpfal

All this blender advice you give to kids and how to do high polygon modelling and all you can give us is a bloody foot!

I joke with you Hess, it's pretty good stuff to be fair. For the side of the foot, looks a bit meaty, I don't know if that's because my own feet are scrawny or if it's accurate, but if you're using a reference, could you post it, just to clarify that one for me...cheers.

Good attention to detail, but I do hope it'll be more than a foot and a leg one day, I want to see a complete human body out of you mister!

I can see now, I must have weird feet or I am imagining things, most people would assume the latter and they're probably right.

As for the head, looks good, I'd have a few comments (I like those lips), but it's the hour where apathy hits me, especially when I barely slept last night, I think I'll give comments a shot when I get back tomorrow. In the mean time, could you provide a wireframe shot of the head so that I can make the most of what I can see when directing any comments.

Cheers.

head wire, topolagy is resnable, few quads i dont like, mainly the one under the ear, ddoubt this one will animate well. i intend to fully rig this carictor eventually, including mouth shapes. its a child, about 12 years old.

the face mesh is largely based on torQ's tut on blender artists
http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20448
images are now on page 18

mainly used this mesh because i wanted something guaranteed anamatable

i have now got rid of most of the triangles on the foot

Comments as promised:

Topology is fairly good, I can see you've had a rampage against tris on that model. What I would suggest is to try to go into deeper detail, the model at the moment looks like a blank canvas in terms of character, so I'd start thinking about that - sags beneath the eyes, small wrinkles as most people have, forehead muscles (these will particularly add character for facial expressions) - generally I think parts could be more defined in that sense. Also the parts of the eyes close to the nose could do with the typical detail there.

The neck of course appears to lack what I would call necessary detail and topology - I think there should be an edge loop running down where the adam's apple is.

Basically, I think my comments just suggest the addition of detail as you're working on a high poly model piece...this may mean the addition of tris, I know how much you dislike them, but when creating a pinch, like for wrinkles, I hope it isn't too much of a sacrifice. Of course, if you'd prefer the challenge of making them all quads...well, good luck with it.

To close my comment, I'll just compliment your work because it's looking good so far and hope to see how you complete it and will keep an eye on this as you progress.

Looks like a night gown to me, and is probably about the right size.

Quote: "thx for the sugestions seppuku arts il work on to some more"

No problem, it looks pretty good and quite clean. Just a couple more suggestions, I remember when learning to draw people I was told as a rule when doing ears that the top part must align with the eye and the bottom with the mouth (or was it the nose? Can't remember lol), it seems on yours the top of the ear needs stretch up to the eye line.

Also, I'd do a draw over on the ear, but I suck at drawing on computers and my laptop mouse isn't quite sufficient, luckily, somebody did a draw over on the ear of my WIP, so I'll just show that to you:

Also, the gown looks a little 'unrealistic' to me, it doesn't seem to have the realistic folds or shape, just go and have look at people in night gowns and compare.

Good stuff my man and hope to see more soon

Looking good, I like the lips of course, what sort of technique do you do for texturing? I've seen a guy on a private forum texture to a good detail, but it seems casually, perhaps I should ask him as well or start a thread when I can get back to doing 3D.

don't rilly have a technique, as this is the first time ive textured a head. furst set up the sss shader, uv unwrapped the head, baked the lips from the refrance image, ruffed out using blenders image editor, so that i could see the results on the modal instantily. then i loaded it into gimp and worked on it some more.
my texturing is pritty poor

Yes. Rigging shoulders is a pain. The amount of muscles deforming a so small area makes necessary a more complex arrangement of bones and soft tissues in high poly meshes.

This is looking good, hessiess. Is that the main character called Hessiess?

Actually, "KKK" sounds like laugh in our language. We do not support Ku Klux Klan. I would kill KKK if it was a man. Cheers.

Dunno if this has been said yet, but the toes look far too skinny (at least, all toes but the big toes) Take your shoes off and stand up then look at your toes, there arent those big spaces between them. The weight you put on the toes cause them to squash down and eliminate the spaces between them. It's small things like that that will cause the human eye to detect that there is something wrong. The human form is an enormous task to take to hand, because simply, everyone knows what a person looks like, you cant mess the form up at all, unlike the freedom you have with creatures/beasts etc. I'll be curious to see how the model is when it is finished, good start though!
