Clonkex (or another mod who happens to read this), is it possible you could move the NaGaCreMo 2015 thread from the NaGaCreMo board to Geek Culture? Nobody but a select few have seen the thread so far and it's three days old haha.

The issue disappears using the beta forums or a different browser, and the issue started right after updating Chrome.

Indeed. I've searched Google before for images of road-related things and it's surprisingly difficult.

lol, your buttons have instructions on them?? Ours don't have instructions OR a timer, just a big, silver button with an arrow pointing up.

Quote: "The vast majority of crossings are like this, as most crossings are at traffic lights and intersections."

So are you in the UK or the US? I'm just wondering if you even have crossings with huge white bars painted on the road to indicate where to walk (a normal pedestrian/zebra crossing).

Awesome tiny 160w power supply:

£43.62 though. Seems a bit expensive for what it is.

Our pedestrian crossings just have a big red button and that's it. We just assume everyone knows how to cross a street.

Some of our crossings have instruction signs, some don't. Everyone knows how to cross, id guess they are mostly there for silly legal and lawsuit reasons. Kind of like having to put "caution hot" on a coffee lid.

If people are interested though, PLEASE go sign up! Linky in the signature thingy under my post!

Sadly, I think this is why a lot of people haven't signed up. People are either working on big projects with AppGameKit (not a bad thing at all!), or are otherwise busy and can't think of ideas, and as a result they don't want to sign up for NaGaCreMo.

Also, I think the time of year is kind of bad for NaGaCreMo. It's been discussed before that it should be moved to summertime, when people aren't in school and are at work a bit less and have much more free time in general. January is probably the worst month, since students are done with Christmas break and are starting their next semester.

What do you guys think? Should NaGaCreMo be moved to another time of the year?

It's been three days and no else has said anything in the thread. Either NaGaCreMo is dying or people just do not have the time this year.

I could technically sign up for NaGaCreMo, but my project will not be anywhere near done at the end of it. Probably not even a tech demo will be finished. And my project isn't a game either.

OH NO
The link in my signature doesn't work. This is probably why the thread hasn't gotten many views.
I forgot that the forums don't like the "&" symbol in links, that must be why it doesn't work.
Why didn't y'all mention that
I have since fixed the link so hopefully it will work! tinyurl to the rescue!

However I am beginning to think NaGaCreMo has been losing popularity over the years. Last year there were less than 20 entries, the year before that there were only 12, whereas the previous years the entries were over 25 and I think the first year was even close to 30!
I really think it's probably just losing steam because of people with jobs and being in school, and as I said earlier January is probably one of the worst months to hold it in. It really should be a July/August occasion.

So I just got my driver's license today. At the time of obtaining my permit 1.5 years ago, my weight was 185 lbs (84 kg). As of today, it has plummeted to a measly 180 lbs. When the lady at the license place asked me if any of that information had changed, I said, "No, the information is substantially the same." She said that was fine, and so on went the process of creating my license.

Getting home and making copies a few hours later for insurance purposes, first thing on the screen to grab attention: "Weight: 485 lbs" (220 kg)

Partially my fault, because I was given the opportunity to look over the entire document and check to make sure all of the information was correct. Sadly I am socially awkward in real life, was experiencing pressure, and thus skimmed over the, well, rather generous weight estimate.

Getting my official governmentally recognized bodily weight reduced by 300 lbs (136 kg) shall be great fun.

Shall I add a post just so that it looks like the forum is somewhat alive today?

I've never seen it as dead as I have this weekend. What, do you guys actually go out and do stuff?

See, while you were all out doing whatever, I was at home not working and playing with a fun new engine I found: Stencyl. It's much better than GameMaker but I would still prefer AppGameKit if I could afford it.

However, Stencyl will let me make games fast and test out many ideas, and will let me experiment a lot so that when I do obtain AppGameKit I can make those games a reality!

I wasn't here last night, since I was busy vomiting 13 times, fainting on the toilet, and getting an IV. I feel better now, thankfully. Must have been all the weight I gained at the driver's license place.

Yikes! I assume dehydration from your stomach deciding to empty out so often is what led to the fainting?

Did it at least get rid of the extra weight the DMV gave you?

Joking aside though, glad you feel better! Did you get the flu? It's been going around like crazy where I live, I've already had it twice in two months. :\

Quote: "I assume dehydration from your stomach deciding to empty out so often is what led to the fainting?"
Yeah, likely. I know someone who is an ER nurse, and they said that some people are genetically prone to fainting after the digestive system purges itself, presumably due to blood being relocated toward the digestive system from the brain. The actual fainting was pure agony. It wasn't painful, but more discomfort than I have ever felt before. I lost all vision and hearing, everything I could see just went white, and it was generally terrifying. I have been rather dehydrated, so my head still hurts and such. But drinking lots of water is seeming to help!

It did get rid of all that weight the DMV gave me! A great plus there, eh?

Not sure if it was the flu. I feel totally fine now besides sore stomach muscles, so I am guessing it was a short term bug of sorts. At the DMV, I touched this fingerprint thing that probably hundreds of people had touched before during the same day, and between doing that and eating, I didn't wash my hands too well. Another possibility, yesterday I was cleaning out this pan full of terrible mold and such; I had funny tastes at the back of my mouth as I cleaned the pan, so perhaps some of the mold dust got into my mouth.

But glad to feel better now!

Yes, and I have 32 patents pending on the technology. Actually, Apple offered to get the patents filed for me, for only a 99% royalty. What an offer! I couldn't resist. Apple has also bribed the patent office, and the patents therefore shall be filed within only about a month, instead of the the normal three years most folks wait.
