I've recently come back from Mix07 UK (With nice Vista Ultimate and Expression Studio )

And one of the things that got a small mention was a .net version of LUA (And PHP support in web development tools)

After the event I tried to find out more about the LUA.net and all I could find was this:

Nice find Jasuk! Thanks! I use LUA from time to time on C/C++ projects for school. Would love to use it with .NET.

Hmmm... Why? From what I've heard about LUA - I GUESS you can make scripts that compile at run time or something... is that why you like them? You can maybe have self modifying code and then run it within your app? Is that what its about?

My idea is that I can control lot in my game. And for the users they can write their own scripts.

In World Of Warcraft its used a lot for users to make their own scripts so they can make their own windows and UI.

Thats what I want to use it for

LUA, Python and other scripting languages are fantastic for very large projects, like MMOs. Because it does not need to be compiled, so you can make changes without having to recompile. Additionally, you can have your developers work on it and not consume expensive programmer time with your project. They can just use a text editor to modify the script file then launch the program and see the results of their changes.
