I found a pack of free shaders which say they are for Darkbasic (see http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=79849&b=8)

They seem to be very similar in function and syntax, and was wondering if it would be possible to get them to work in fpsc. If anyone thinks It may work, then I feel tempted to give it a go.

I'm also interested in a reply for this.

Was the question answered? No. So, why create a new thread with the same question?

Considering we've revived the thread, the bloom shader in there is exactly the same as one in a test level someone released, so it ought to be possible. I just have no idea how i'd implement them.

HELL NO, dont do that, we will have multiple threads all asking the same things over and over.

To answer the question, shaders dont work in dx9 of fpsc, apart from that bloom type one.

So, DarkSHADER shaders aren't compatible with FPSC? And the bloom one you talk about is that demo from Nighthawk?

it depends on the modification of the sourcecode

btw. the only 'extra' shaders which work without modification of the sourcecode:
- 'Fur' Shader from Evolv3d
- and the Gloss Shader by ??? (dunno who made that)

The FPSC contains shaders like Bump, Normalmapshader (bumpcubereflectalpha), Illuminationmapping, Cubemapping, etc.

i haven't tested DS Shaders in the FPSC, but a mod of the sourcecode would get them to work, all of them

The Bloom Mod is actually in a re-code phase, so it will take some time until the biggest bug is fixed... the crappy bloom shader

Until my mod(s) are finished or Lee Bamber releases the FPSC Upgrade / FPSC X10 or someone other developes something like this, you'll have to use the standard ones (i often use no shaders - sometimes it's better without shaders because they can cause LM/General Illumination problems)

My System: Intel Xeon 3060 @ 2,4 GHz, Asus Commando, 2GB DDR2-800 RAM, Thermaltake Shark Black, Sapphire Radeon HD2900XT, BenQ FP71E+

I'm into baking the normal maps on, but I do occasionally use the bumpcubereflectalpha to make glossy surfaces.

I sent an email to support some days ago asking if DarkSHADER is compatible, but no reply at all.

Some shaders are compatible. Look at the E.L.E. thread.
