Hmm, you may have to use an older version of FPS Creator for DirectX 8. Please note, some of the model packs and upgrades won't work right with the older version, I had some issues, maybe contact Microsoft about it?

Well post your specs buddy. And I don't know dude, FPSC might not run so good with X8 or at all. (I forgot if it even supports X8)

I know from at least v1.04 you have to have the most current version of x9.0c or your graphics will not render properly...if at all.

I tried to run the demo, it loads fine, but in place of the mapping screen is just a black box, any ideas?

yes, I do need to use a Virtual Machine or I can't run windows applications on my macbook.

yeah yeah, macbook ewww, whatever, don't wanna hear it.

anyways
the virtual machine i'm using is Parallels, and it's the newest version, that supports up to DX8.
It's the best one I could find as VMWares' recent version disabled direct x.
as for the video card, here's the specs on that

Intel GMA 950 graphics processor with 64MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory

I'm really hoping to get FPSC running cuz me and some friends were gna make some multiplayer maps among other things.

That's right. I think it's time you splashed out on a proper system to run FPSC/FSPC X10 on.
