I've been practicing my modelling and texturing lately. I'm still not very good, but I thought I'd give away an axe that I made:

It's textured, and it's normal mapped with a very basic normal map that I made for practice.

It's 136 polies, and is attached to this post.

I've included the UV map, in case you wanna create another texture for it. I've also included then .blend file for no reason really.

If you use it in a game (I really doubt that anyone will lol), please give me some credit.

::EDIT::****************************

The .blend file doesn't seem to be textured. It's unwrapped, but the texture isn't loaded. If you would still like the file, I can post the updated .blend file.

Thank you, hessiess, that means a lot!

I've taken the time to come up with a variation as well:

200 polies, it's normal mapped as well. Pretty much the same thing, but with a double blade.

Nice model andrewT. It's pretty well textured too!

I might suggest a little more detail on the texturing of the heads. Apart from that, its a very good mesh.

Good stuff.

For a practice model, that looks good. I suck at texturing, I can make decent models with ref. pics, but other then that, I suck at texturing. 3/5 Star, I do not like the shiny part of the wood, make it a little bit less, and it will look better to me.

Well, the wood was shiny mainly to show off the normal map. If you used it in-game you probably would use a specularity map that would tell the shader to only set the axe head specular. Thank you for the comments, though.

only problem that i can see is the wood looks like plastic, but this wouldent be a problem in a game anyway, as it would be controlled by pixel shaders

Lol, ya, I know. But you're right, it really doesn't matter, so I'll leave it the way it is.
