I posted a developers diary thread and it's locked, I don't know why. When one is making a game, but still is in pre production phase, doesn't have screenshots, so it is to post here, in FPSC Chat. Besides that, the rules of FPSC Chat are:

It has come to my attention that there appears to be a lack of documented rules governing what can and can't be displayed on this board. As such, here are a few rules to live by:

-You may not post nudity.

-You may not post anything sexually suggestive. By this I mean characters that are either dressed in a provocative way (such as lingerie), or posed in a provacative/suggestive way. However female/male models with simple undergarments (bra and panties/underpants) are permissable, as long as the models are not posed in a manner which violates these rules.

-There will be absolutely NO profanity, including attempts to bypass the filters.

-Users will not threaten each other; although constructive arguments/disagreements are allowed. Play nice.

-There will be no links to sites that offer pirated versions of ANY material.

-There will be no links to sites that contain nudity. By this I mean a link directly to a site that contains nudity; sites that do not contain this material, but offer links to this material are allowed. Do not try to circumvent this point, as it can just as easily be more restrictive.

-Posting for sale, or for give-away someone else's work is not permissable.

-Spamming of another members thread is not allowed. Asking an off topic question that is constructive is allowed, unless the thread's author wishes it removed.
These rules are subject to change/modification, so stay informed.

Many, many people have asked why Team Requests are not allowed here. Please read the contents of this page to find out what constitutes a valid Team Request.

Also please note (as per the above link) that no Team Requests are allowed whatsoever on any FPSC Board.

I have just deleted a thread with an offensive title. Such behaviours will not be tolerated and will serve no purpose other than to add a black mark against the perportrators. Continued such behaviours by any forum member may bring more severe action.

You may think that Moderators are unconcerned if they seem to be inactive but I can assure you that is not the case - active or not they are constantly watching what goes on here and will continue to take any necessary steps to keep these FPSC boards clean.

I will leave this for reading and digestion.

Please do not repeat the occurance or action may be taken against any individuals concerned.

This is not open for debate.

Spam? I did nothing, I've just posted here the rules in order to become clear I did not infringe them.

It might be helpful to actually post a link to the thread in question. If it hasn't been replied to in thirty days, or there's no screenshot, then it will be locked.

And it's at a mods descretion what will and won't pass in a forum. Email Fred or Keith or Bullshock or uman or... whoever else, ask them to reopen it and move it to the Showcase board so you can put some screens in.

In the FPSC Chat one doesn't need to have a screenshot, when I have screenies I'll post in the showcase. I posted here precisely because of that. Besides I don't know who locked it, since it doesn't appear on the bottom, like usually locked threads do.

If you want to post a development diary or are in the preproduction phase (which says to me that you haven't actually started making the game yet so there would be no point in posting here) you might check out the Game Design Theory forum.
If you have a WIP (work in progress) and screenshots and stuff like that then feel free to post in the Showcase forum.Since my understanding is that you are not ready there is no point in posting about a game you haven't actually started yet.
There are other boards in the TGC forums (namely game design theory) that are better suited for this.
BTW we have e-mail addresses.You can click on the e-mail button below the post of any FPSC mod and e-mail them.Please do this if you have any more questions.

Let me build on Fred's comments.

It's not that we're trying to come down hard on you at all; it's just that we've had to curb these types of threads before, as there used to be quite a few "here's my upcoming game" threads that pushed legitimate threads down the list. We have to be even handed with this, even though yours was obviously thought out and structured.

You are right that it doesn't appear in our posted rules, and I will amend them accordingly.

I encourage you to build upon your ideas in the aforementioned board, then elaborate on them with some screenshots and post your work in the Showcase board.
