For some practice, I've decided to try and create an entire character; that means making the mesh and all texture maps- normal, spec, and color. I'm almost done with the mesh. It's 1660 polies, and it still needs some tweaking. I really have no idea what it's supposed to be; just a totally random character.

C&C is welcome.

looks very good but there are to many poly's in some arias and not enough in others, head is very angular, but the body is smooth

learn blender, you will never regret it.

Thanks for the comments! That was fast lol!

I'm tweaking the head right now. I'm not gonna make a face, cuz I'm planning on having him wear a mask.

Thanks for the compliments!
I just finished touching up the head, so it should be better now.

I'm gonna start texturing tomorrow, I'll post an update then.

looks like a new member to the fire service.

Hose as one hand ,battering ram as the other.

Although it wouldn't be much good at carrying out survivors

The model its really good but I think it should has at least one hand, can I give you an idea? you donĀ“t have to ad the hand directly, you can model the hand apart and ad it like a "floating" hand (in the left arm), then later when you are programming the game ad some kind of "electric or energy" between the hand and the arm, IMO it could be so cool.

That's a great idea! haha, maybe I can even make the hand detachable or something, so you can choose if you want to use it or not. But I have yet to decide if I'm even gonna use this in a project, so I'll consider it.

Okay, I'm pretty much done with texturing. I have yet to complete the mask, so ignore that.

The fire is just using Blender's particles, so it's not part of the actual model.
Waddya guys think??

Well i like the model but you could use some more work on your textures... i would suggest using cloth or metal textures so it seems more realistic.

Don't use your normal maps for noise, they're not good for noise. Use textures for noise and normal maps for smooth details.

Okay, just redid the texture entirely. It's not normal mapped or anything. It's pretty mcuh the same, but a little different. I think I'm gonna drop this project for now, I've learned quite a bit about modelling, uv mapping, and texturing, so I'm gonna move on and work on some other models. thanks for all the comments.
