I am currently building a level and I have a bar scene that has 10 characters in it and FPS drops to 8.

Just curious what you all get?

That's not the only factor for FPS. In a level consisting of one room and 10 characters, it's very easy to maintain 30+ FPS. Add that room with 10 characters to an existing larger level and the FPS will be lower.

also what are these 10 characters doing? I can have that manny ewith pistols or zombies..but once when I had two greanadiers and a Bazooka dude and they all 3 starting attacking the explosions dragged the Framerate down to zero

Well my problem is the same as force master's.

I read all hints and tips, tutorials, and the FPSC Hints and Tips guide too.

But my frame rate is still low if I have more than 10 enemy in a level.

You guys who have 30+ FPS with more than 10 enemy, how can you improve the framerate?

If I create a whole seperate level and only setup a room measuring 12 x 12 and add in ten characters. I drop to 8 fps

Also if I have four or more characters I drop to around 11 fps 3 characters 16 - 17 2 characters 20 - 21

1 character 29

0 character 32 and it sometime jumps to 70 and 80 fps just depending. On how my fingers were crossed when I did my test build

use the later patches, it makes a big difference.

wait for fpsc x10 you can place 100 enemies in one room and wont lag and also the ragdolls rock and graphics and all,way better

With a decent size level with enough entities in it to look realistic, I am only able to get 4-5 enemies in a level without the frame rate dropping below 25. I have tried 6-7 characters, and then my frame rate varies between 5 and 15.

What is average character poly count?
And does it influence much? Lets say difference between 700poly and 2k one character.
