Hi Just Signed up today.

I am making my first game which contains 5 levels.
I am Getting 2 errors/problems.

Problem 1. Enemies(All using Triggerzones) wont react, even when shot
The first couple in the level will, but the further you play on
the become non responsive.
I no this has been answered before, but the answers given dont fix my problem

I have the player set to 80 fire rate, pace.fpi or strafe.fpi etc
Its just after u encounter your 3rd or so enemy that they become
non responsive(i will add screenshot of entity properties).

Problem 2: My game has five levels, which i can build seperately
but when i try and put all five levels in one game it displays an error whilst building. Is there a simple answer for this?

My main concern is issue 1,
Please answers as simplistic as possible because i have a brain the size of a peanut. lol

Also off topic i am practising re-texturing the scientist.
And others in FPSC, I have 2 textures which i will upload screenshots for. Am i aloud to upload them for free, or is it violating the license because the scientist is from a model pack which everyone might not have.

And would u like me to upload them or are they useless to you guys.

IS the Error saying that something has been copyed to much? I also had this problem when I put to many characters in my game. Go back and take some out.

Always remember to update to the latest version, patches have fixed several annoying bugs and improved perfomance of the games as well, not to mention some useful new features.

I think the latest one is 1.07. I haven't personally tested it myself yet, but at least 1.06RC4 played fantasticly.

If these don't fix your problems, try removing the characters / objects from your map and then place them again with similiar settings, or completelly re-build the map you were working on.

I have been waiting since version 1.2 for them to address my issues.
That being that the enemy AI is lame. No matter what version I use or what shooting script I give them....they always load their stupid weopon before attacking. Some don't do anything at all as discribed above. And the enemies seem to take turns not working....Its fun to build worlds and populate with unique props but once you put bad guys in the game starts to seem silly

I am Using Version 1.06, just downloaded v1.07 and i will try that tonight.


Gramps,
Their is no error for enemy AI, The game will Build fine,
They just dont react when playing game

When i build the game with multiple levels it comes up with the 0,0
error message meaning unknown error.

Thanks for the help so far guys,
I didn't expect any answers this quick, so its muchly appreciated
I will continue tampering with AI,
Hopefully with success one day.

If anyone else has any ideas please comment


Also Attached is my 2 skin textures (Screenshot only at this stage)for the Scientist Lab Model.
How do i upload the textures for someone to download.
Because i can't add DDS files over forum, or can i????

Puppet, the AI isn't that Bad.
You can't expect the world out of it.
But I think you have a point when you say they take turns not working, because when i first built the level about 6-8 enemies
were reacting perfectly, now since expanding the level its dropped to about 3-4.

This Question is a little off topic but, my levels usually expand over 3 tiers.
I only every have 2 enemies per trigger zone in one room,
Total enemy count of around 15-20 per level, so i use 10+ trigger points all spawning different ai names (e.g. enemy wave 1). And usually use 3 different enemy models or atleast skins.

I dont fully understand spawning, but could this help ressolve the issue, I just set seperate trigger zones to different rooms/corridors and set enemies to load when playerinzoneactivateused. Is what i am doing right, or is spawning different and improved on my way of doing things.

I have read NickyDudes FPSC help guide by the way, which is bloody terrific. Congrats to all who helped him.
