Handle looks a bit bent, the texture i don't think would be good enough for a weapon so 300 poly's is a bit high.

Saying that, i do like the texture and it would work nice as a background object, if you get the poly count down.

Um, 300 polygons is not high... at all...

normal weapons are 2000-4000 polygons..

Not a simple thing like a hammer. Although, even for a hammer it isn't that high

I personally think, that 300 for a first-person weapon is good.
Higher resolution image attached.

edit: maybe i should work on the handle texturing a bit.

If you re-read what i said, i said it doesn't look good enough to work as a weapon, because of the texture, but it would work well as a generic background object, in this case, the polygon count would be too high.

Just trying to give some critisism, i like it.

EDIT: yes, the handle does let it down a bit, the metal head is very nicely done.

Question: How do blood splatters get on the handle if you're holding it?

Nice, looking a lot better.
Just a few crits really, like hessiess said, there should be more of a step where the grip joins to the top part of the hammer, hell, even add it to the texture if you can. I'd like to see a normal map from this.
