Can anyone please help me? I've got a GF4 Ti4600 and have bought some buffy dvds, i tried to play them on my computer and it says "DVD protection error, cannot play whilst TVOUT is enabled". ARG! They dont even give a f***ing warning about the crappy protection, so now i have £200 worth of buffy dvds and i cant watch them!!!

So can anyone help me? I just need either a player that ignores this protection thing or something that disables the tvout.

Thanks in advance

Why not just disable the TV-OUT. What make of Ti4600 have you got? I've got an MSI Ti4600 and have no problems playing DVD's.

Probably because he doesn't like to listen to DVD's on a PC monitor...

Could also be that he's got something* smaller than 19 inches which isn't enough to enjoy IMO.

Personally I love it...Much better quality than my TV.

*By something I of course meant his monitor.

@MrTAToad: I am using PowerDVD, but it seems to be PowerDVD thats causing the problem cause i found a free player and the dvds worked fine. Im gonna try upgrading powerdvd to see if it has an affect.

@acturus: That would take years . Theres 21 DVDs. It takes 30mins to decrypt, 8-12 hours to convert to mpeg and 2 hours to burn to DVD per disk. i dont have that much free time

@sonic: Theres different types of ti4600? i didnt know that. Plus most of my dvds work fine, its just the buffy dvds that dont wanna work.

The only problem I have read about with Buffy DVD's is that there is extra protection on region 1 versions called RCE which stop the DVD playing on region-free DVD players. Could this be problem with you? Have you modified your computers DVD drive to be multi-region.

Or am I barking up the wrong tree!

Inferno, setup Media Player Series9 to use the PowerDvD dll's - you can subside the protection that way ... or you could download DemonTools, mount the DvD before you watch then just change the format to what you want or you could try nvDvD.

there's probably alot more choices than that, i used to use PowerDvD as its a great package and now i use nvDvD cause it has so many cool features for my cards

Thanks everyone . I've fixed it now simply by upgrading powerDVD using the latest patch.

I would get nvDVD but it only works with win2000/XP and ive got win98 installed . I suppose its time for an upgrade...

Thanks again

Don't upgrade to XP just for that.

I was about to ask if you were running it or not...Although win2K is something else to consider buying.

Well at least the problem's solved.
