The screens look great! Not sure if the story lives up to the level quality though...no offense, but you might want to look for a more unique name than John Smith. Browse some baby name sites, you'll usually find something good.

It amazes me how the good guys always have good names; Jason Bourne, John McClane, James Bond. You'll never get a hero called 'Bob Crusty' or 'Tarquin Pitstain' would you.

Looks nice. Where did you get that wall texture? I feel like I've seen it before.

@Nickydude:

Those are all good names because they all start with "J", hahaha. But then again, so does mine, so maybe I'm just being biased.

I like the screens, nice segments going on.

Wish you would load up some action in there though...

WOW I'v noted that 64% of the Fourm use's the name John for their main dude's name. Weard

P.S I use the name too but I got it from Halo, you know Master Cheif. His name is John so I used it.

P.P.S I read the book's and got it from there not from Halo3.

If anyone has Xbox live please add me to you're frinds list.
My tag is FruitlessCRUNK, but tell me who you are through a message.

Nowdie,

Greetings. Hmmmn. Very intereting indeed. The screenshots look good. I like them a great deal.

I look forward to the evolution and completion of this title.

Personally, if John Smith is the only name the protagonist knows, I think it works. They toe-tag John Doe corpses all the time.

I would work on a heck of a good story, and reveal our hero's true name at that time.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks,

Seth Black

I found out where I've seen that texture before!

In this screenshot, which was posted in early spring last year by you.

Great looking title. The ONE thing i suggest is that you remove the orangish rust lines on the texture, that will add a huge deal of depth to the game because it wont seem like its tiled.

Orrion,
It's quite rude to post a question like that in someone elses thread.

Dude, the level, looks great, although my only criticism is that you may have too much of a good thing going on. That wall texture is great, but it's the ONLY wall texture. maybe you could create some variations of it? Or change the graffiti on it or something. I know it feels coherent at the moment, because the walls have a common look. But you can get the same coherency with different similar wall textures.

The point of my post was to show that the texture was created before the contest start date.

I didn't edit because my post was already buried by other posts. =P

Quoth the mod:

As long as Nowdie considers Orrion's question to be constructive, I do believe it is allowed. Some may consider it rude, but that's entirely up to the thread author.

Nowdie:

I like the genuine placing of entities that you have going on, it really does make it look more realistic. The segments seemed perfectly fine until butters mentioned the tiling, and then after closer inspection... I realised that every segment is tiled and it doesn't matter as long as it fits the mood of the setting.

Keep up the nice work.

Why are you apologizing to me? It's not my thread, I was pointing out something to Nowdie.
