you find textures in the entity folder if you are going to retexture character and such things.
Then I allways copy the whole folder ex WW2 and paste it as WW2 retextures.
Then convert the texture in the ww2retextures to jpeg or something, be sure the new file gets into my pictures or the same folder (ww2retextures)
Then let your inspiration fly (or what you say) and make what you want, then save it. I think Photoshop can save the file as TGA and I think that works to but I convert the jpeg to dds and save it in the ww2retexture.
Then just open FPSC editor and place a character that you gave the retexture into the game. Finished.

Be warned though, the re-texture must be fairly significant, you can't just alter one little thing and post it.

I don't think converting *.dds to *.jpg is the best way, because you may loose some quality (both formats are compressions indeed), but if it works for you, enjoy

Btw, there are some free DDS plugins for Photoshop. If you can afford it of course...

You are aviable to make small retexures to, like adding blood or something as long as you dont sell it.
