may I suggest another format other than .jpg? Even though it is small it has problems with 'artifacts' perhaps even .png?very smal and still accurate as a .bmp without the huge size.

I agree with Disturbing 13, you should maybe supply the textures in a 'few' other different formats such as 'PNG','TGA', and maybe even 'DDS'.
Keeping the textures in 'JPEG' format will restrict their use.

All the best with the Pack

I just want to enquire, you have them wrapped around a ball in max or maya or something, and it looks like you're using a phong or blinn material (hence the white reflection). Any chance we can see the textures flat? Currently the material they are applied to will be adding it's own attributes to the texture, so we're not getting an accurate view of how it looks. I'd prefer a flat preview with a watermark to be honest...

the wrap around the sphere is a security measure. I do not trust water marks as they are easily altered and it makes the tex look like like crap. Multiple file formats will be fine but I will limit it to thre formats .jpg .png .tga
I will be giving a free sample for download soon so you can see the basics of the quality. Thanks for the comments guys.

Actually I think that the flat texture with the water mark is a good idea sure is faster for me lol. So I will present the textures that way today. thanks.

Using Genetica 2 Pro? It's a great program. Looks good so far; have you thought about including bump or normal maps with some or all of them?

You probably ought to have the files as dds files. With no alpha DXT1 is the best, for alpha, DXT5. DXT3 has only a 4bit alpha so it looks really blocky, so don't use it (unless you have an alpha that is only one colour, DXT1 will do black and white only I think).

Much better! These are very nice textures. Of course, I am most excited for the sci-fi ones.

I'm afraid that not all image editing programs have support for 'TGA' or 'PNG' for that matter. By changing the file extention will not make the file into a 'TGA' because 'TGA' image files can carry all sorts of extra information in their profiles such as alpha channels and transparency.
I haven't tried 'GIMP' but I hear it is a very good Free image editing program which might have support for 'TGA' files.

Best of luck to you

Sure, PNG's will do fine because they also can carry information in their profiles such as the TGA.

Good luck

Oh, so, in Build-game the PNG's would work instead?

You may not use the pics dude they are water marked and you may not alter them. They are however ready for download individually if you would rather not wait for the pack to be released at my site under the textures area.

It appears that I may need go back to using the sphere for the texture updates lol.
