Okay, when using the built-in screenshot feature (which would come in VERY handy), the HUD does not show up.

Also, using the PrntScrn key does not seem to copy the in-game screen to the clipboard and so i can't use that to paste any screenies into Paint or whatnot.

Has anyone had this trouble and if so, found a workaround/fix for it?

I'm on vista, too!! I thought it was the OS just messin with me, but I dunno now... PrntScrn doesn't even work OUTSIDE the program!

Isn't there some sort of System setting to activate that key??

Cuz I want to get my game up on the Showcase, but without the HUD showing up, the screenies won't look very good.

You could use a 3rd party program to get your 'captures'.

"Jasc-Paintshop Pro" is capable of multi screen capture and has many other capture options.

All the best of luck

To my knowledge, Print Screen fuction works the same in Vista as it does in XP. Some people don't know that the function only copies the image to the clipboard, and you must open another program, create a new image and paste the contents of the cipboard to the new, blank image.

best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Thank you for the third party suggestions. I'll have to go give one a shot.

I don't why you said that considering my very first post in this thread clearly states:

... Yeah.

Fair enough, I suppose, not the first time anyone's missed something on a thread, right?

@Plystire: Do print-screen again. Then paste in paint. If that doesn't work then there is something wrong with your computer. Or download Paint.net or gimp they are both free.

Deathead, I don't know if I should sue you for hacking into my computer and making it work the EXACT moment that I read your comment... Or praise you for hacking into my computer and making it work the EXACT moment that I read your comment.

That is so strange... I haven't even rebooted or anything since I started this thread, and now it decides to work! I blame you, Deathead.

Thanks.. I think.

Yes, it is F12, but that does not capture any HUD images currently on screen, just the 3d environment.

Not capturing Hud´s is not a problem for me.
And if you want to show you amazing hud or something, lets go photoshop it
Just add the hud wehre it would be in the game and it almost looks the same.

hmm. I press f12 while testing and it freezes for a second. How do I access the screen shots i took? O and if you wanna do the screen capture with the hud press "prt sc" (print screen) on your keyboard. Open paint and press ctrl v and your screen shot will be displayed in the editing window of paint. Crop anything you don't like and you're done.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

If you have a noticeable pause when you capture, you probably need some upgrades. The capture can be found in the FPS Creator folder.

Best.

Did you paste into an image program after using Print Screen?

Sorry for any delay with a response to this thread.
Just to let everyone know, that after various tests, I found you can not use both F12 and PrintScreen is the same level test to take screen shots.

Example: Pressing F12 first, will not allow you to copy and paste a image into paint even if you made a screen capture with print screen and done correctly.

After taking a few shots to show the frame rate in the island levels i am currently testing, I found it was best to use print screen once first time, and then close out, make the picture in paint or something (as mentioned) and then repeat the process, reloading the level each time.
From memory if I used PrintScreen, then walked around the level and used F12 to take a second shot, it would delete the PrintScreen copy and when I would go to paste it in paint, No paste option was available.

Hope this helps anyone.

Cool, but what I found was easier was to open up Paint, then start the level, when you hit PrintScreen, Alt+Tab over to Paint, paste it, then Alt-F-A to save the screeny. It might help to have your saving in the correct directory ahead of time, as well as in the right format (.jpg or whatever you use).

That's how I do it, that way I can take screenies of my "Unusually Long Loading Level" without having to wait for it to load everytime I want a new screeny
