I looked into downloading the source for the main game.exe and I found one posted circa mid-2006. It would be helpful to me and the rest of us if you or someone from TGC could upload a more recent, up-to-date game.exe.
So let us know where and when we can get that. Thanks!

Steve

How hard is it to upload a file?

They would have to organize it, etc.

Also, they are waiting until X9 and X10 have a somewhat unified code base before they release it.

Why not email him?

What in god's name are you talking about inspire, the code is done and is saved in the format me and the others need. All we need is the .dba uploaded like what was done before. There is no organization needed...

And I didn't email him because I knew others needed the same.

has it occured to you that they are using commands not actually found in the dbpro language? maybe to get all those pretty screenshots they keep showing us with fpsc X10 they have to write a bunch new commands to be able to write something like that.

So, to give you the .dba file would be completely useless because the version of darkbasic pro that you have, even the latest version, isn't capable of compiling it.

Lee bamber would have to update dbpro and then he would be able to release the source code to you. Do you understand? This same question has been asked and answered many many times, it is really quite simple.

The version of dbpro that lee bamber is using is what's called an 'in house' version. Meaning it has many bugs and issues that aren't resolved for a commercial release. Therefore, he has to finalize the code first, release the newest version of dbpro, then give you 'teh codez' for fpscreator.

got it?

Ok I don't want the .exe from x10. And I highly doubt the need for a DBPRO update because addins such as darklights are already compatible with the version out there. And he's got to have something we can compile besides the archic version on the website. I'm not looking to argue with anyone.

lol

ok, i didn't mean to sound rude there. i just see this same issue coming up again and again.

i think it would be nice to have 'teh codez' released too. but as far as it has been explained, there will be no such release until everything is good and ready.

what exactly would you do with the code anyhow?

Bad Monkey put it really well, and I think you should shut up, to be honest. First of all, people wanted to get the source for a while now, and why do you think this thread would do anything? There is already an identical thread to this asking for the source code in the FPSC Scripts section. Also, don't talk to me like I'm stupid. See below:

Not that I have the skill to edit the source anyway but seeing as they've included Dark Lights does that mean we will all need to purchase Dark Lights to make any changes?

I was going to do some specific edits for my own game engines needs.

There's no sense in TGC releasing the source code at this point. It changes so fast it would be a waste of time and what you did with the source code would be incompatible with the one they would release next week and so on.
TGC releases stuff when they are ready and there's no sense in buggin them to release it any sooner than they plan to.They won't.
I would suspect that if they release a newer version of the source code it won't be until December at the earliest and,in all likelihood, will be sometime next year.
There are several of us waiting on this and you're no the only one.
So do like the rest of us...wait.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

Yea I was gonna say something but its been taken care of so thanks for telling him guys.

Also, you were rude on your messages, please don't act like Lee isn't trying to make this product better for you, because he is okay? Many others on this forum have been waiting, and its laughable that you think you can waltz in here and tell Lee what to do, show a little more respect in your posts please and we'll all get along fine 'kay?

@Urlforce, I doubt Lee Bramber bothers with reading the FPSC forums. We're the ones they abandoned.

@Tom0001-

Dude, please shut up, lee did not abandon you, that is the most ungrateful thing I've heard, go read the Q & A in geek culture, they're working hard on it, Lee's putting in 14 hour days just for you. Ungrateful [mod edit], when will you learn that not everything can be crafted in 3 months.

Lol, baka. You should realise I'm kidding. I'm well aware of how hard they are working, so stop swearing at me. And when did I ever say that I believed things could be crafted in such short periods of time? Perhaps you should calm down, and actually read what I said before posting to flame me.

Well then excuse me tom, but I rather didn't see any humour in being abandoned or bothered with and where did I swear at you, I called you a git.

Perhaps I just don't get your humour.

Look I tried to make peace with you but then you go and call me stupid, Mode Edit, there now I swore at you. I ain't on any high horse, I just can't stand people with attitudes like you who think they're funny and try to use a word they can't fully understand. I'll not calm down and have you get away with what you said, there was no humour in it, you said that to cover yourself, not looking to pick a fight but you sure know how to boil someone's blood. As far as it being the internet, I don't care if we were face to face, you need to learn some respect for others.

Everyone needs to calm down. You guys need to stop egging one another on. I'm afraid I had to slap Zombie, though I only did it for a day. Joking or not, Tom; you seem to have a bit of an attitude towards certain people here. It would be best to keep those types of comments to yourself.

Well I was about to e-mail you but then it came up to mine so whatever I guess, I can say what I wanted here.

I wanted to thank you for giving me a slap, I'm not angry or annoyed at that and I fully support your decision, frankly I was flying off the handle and I apologize to tom, you, and the community for that, I need to learn some self control there, just something to fit in to my meditation today. Well I look forward to regular postings in the following days, sorry for the outburst and have a good day Keith.

Wow...sometimes I miss all of the fun.
I am sure that we can communicate with each other and even disagree with each other without having to resort to personal attacks and name calling.
I can assure that that, eat least every once in a while,Lee does look at these forums.
And the 1.07 update came out not too long ago and it's not the last one.
Now let's have one big group hug...

Ok everyone:
I am not trying in any way to act rude. The fact that any attempt to ask a fair and clear question is met with this level of hostility appals me.

There are contests after contests after contests, concerning level design, segments or even game demos. I just wish TGC had as much interest in giving us the chance to mod the source again. I can't wait for the day that there are fpsc game.exe contests.

And the fact that my question took 25 replies to answer a question and i wasn't even asking the repliees' for their opinion. And half the replies were just immature members posting to eachother with spam not even relating to my question, just to inflame eachother.

This isn't even part of the game making progress. We shouldn't have to go through acivil war everytime someone has a question.

So please please please: if you have nothing to say that has to do with the topic, then don't post. It's a waste, please.

They do have intrest, maybe they're working on a v1.08? Maybe they're making it easier for us to sift through? Who knows, all we have to do is wait patiently and find out.
