Hi, is there an animator out there who thinks they can make a person with all the usual animations such as walk, stand, crouch and run.

Soharix currently already has an object that does this but because our animator doesn't seem to be capable of getting the texture file that goes with it to work properly I had to make my own and well, it doesn't fit very well. (Press view at the bottom to see our poor result.)

This isn't a team request, I would just like to see if anyone could have a go, or direct me to where there is already one, at an animated person that has a customizable texture.

- thanx, for those of you who may reply.

The FPSC models have all the animations you mention plus many more and all come with a texture file that you can edit as you like.
Either buy FPSC or one of the model packs (pack 4 I think has a lot of characters)

I don't trust FPSC models, because the object I showed in the screenshot was made by our modeler, who models for FPSC, the texture isn't customizable because A. It doesn't even apply to the object for DBP and B. Its a .DDS or something, which I can't edit.

Excuse me. English is not my first language and I may have some problems with interpretation. But.. if I did understand, you are asking an UV mapped and animated mesh because you can not create a decent UV? ^_^"

Actually, "KKK" sounds like laugh in our language. We do not support Ku Klux Klan. I would kill KKK if it was a man. Cheers.

if you just need a model to test out some things, psonic has that dwarf at his website; you know the dwarf that is shown in 99% of all the wip rpgs here

@ 5Louiz - I "can" create a decent UV, but I can't animate. The animator who made the object I am using, can't make a UV that I can use.
@ Heckno - I'm not looking for a test, I already have an object to test with, I just need a more suiting object. One that remotely looks like a normal human, not a Strogg with a broken UV map. (Strogg = Enemy's from Q2, Q4 & ETQW)

Have you tried just remapping his model? If the animations are ok.

Btw, .dds is a compressed .tga file and All models can have textures changed on them. (Prodcedural or image mapped.)

How can I "uncompress" a .dds?

And what do you mean by remap his model?

Ok, If you can't get the textures to work because the UV map is bad, then you will need to remap or rip new UVs. If it is just that DB can't read the .dds file then get dds converter 2. I don't have a link but if you do a search here in the forums you can find it. You can then convert the image to .tga or other file that DB will read.
