I'm wondering which file type is it best to save a model in for importing into BLENDER to convert into .x .

Also, if you will, point me to an excellent place to learn what I will need to know about texturing\ UV Mapping. I have PHOTOSHOP 7 and , of course, PAINT, and don't want to lay out more cash at this time as I am switching jobs and moving.

Thanks for your help, in advance!

Cheers!

I do, export as .obj and import into Blender - I find .obj keeps texture (in a .mtl file which blender should load, if not, it takes no more than 2 minutes to reapply textures in Blender), UVMap, an geometry data (I mean it doesn't convert quads into tris like .3ds and .x do)

for everyone interested in UV mapping. Bringing the brushes and textures from Photoshop to apply in Hex is a brilliant idea!

A beer to you both! Cheers!

You're welcome. That was my very first tutorial in Hex, I have a second one that is a little more in depth using my toon T-rex. Never got around to getting the textures painted though.
