Hi all...

I have a magnet (only a cube at the moment!) and want to be able to lift long objects, connecting the magnet to the object anywhere along it's length. Imagine lifting a long piece of metal from one corner only... as you lifted this edge, the other would stay on the ground etc etc until the whole piece was hanging from the corner you lifted.

This is just a hyperthetical question and i don't require any code etc at this time... I was purely wondering how DarkPhysics's joints work? Do they join at the objects origins?? Could want I want to happen be achievable? What kind of joint would be best? I also need to be able to drop the objects at a later date.

Cheers....

You can set the joint to be anywhere. In your case, I suppose it would be the edge of the magnet.

A "6 degrees of freedom" joint can move in all directions. I think you can set stiffness, which would control the strength of the magnet, as well as the joint break limit, which determines what force will break the joint and release the item.
