Hello comunity!
I have finished my first sci-fi model pack which includes segments, entities and some characters.
Screens here:
Screen 1 - No Ligths (Pure Segment):

Screen 1 - Lights:

Screen 2 - No Ligths:

Screen 3:

Screen 4:

The characters in this pack are mostly small space ships with no "heavy animations" which makes them very useful because I can put even 10 in a room and they don't affect my game in any "bad way". (They can work with any AI script I have btw). The other advantage is they are even more dangerous that the original characters and 1 of those can kill you if you are not careful enough.

I don't plan to sell this pack (for now), because I really need the models for one of my games and 2 of them are retextures.

I am working on my 2nd Sci fi pack now and would like to know is anybody interested in models like these? (Custom Meshes - Segments/Entities/Characters)
If not I will keep the 2nd pack for myself again

Of course any comments are appreciated.

Cheers!

I think it looks pretty good and you should make a second pack.

THe blue bits are the texture from one of the stock light fittings. Most of the other textures look like they are cut from stock textures.

It's an interesting look though

Thanks for the comments guys.
As for the stock textures/retextures - yes, that's what I said in my first post - 2 of the textures are not mine and that's one of the reasons I'm keeping the pack for myself. They look very good on these meshes btw.

I just wanted to know if someone else is interested in similar stuff (sci-fi/fantasy) or I am the only one here

It will be pointless to release a fantasy pack if no one needs it, isn't it...

Of course if I create a 2nd sci-fi pack every bit of the models/textures will be my custom work.

P.S. I forgot to mention that you can also climb on these meshes (walls).

Oh yes, definitely. You should see some of the projects I have going on that's outside of game making. All sci-fi based.

By the way, I like what you have. I'm definitely interested.

This looks awesome.. The first screenie with al the blue and white colours looks very sci-fi I'd hope to see your 2nd pack.

Question... is there also characters in the pack? And if so can you post some screenies of that... Thanks

And sorry I almost forgot about this thread.

I'll just copy the text:

The screenshot of a small ship is in the 1st post.
That's for the 1st pack btw (the one I am not selling).
Well, if I create animated characters which can hold weapons, I will release a different pack for that.

Those screenshots look very different, and I mean that in a good way. I would be interested in a pack like this.

Thanks a lot!
I am starting to think a release won't be that pointless.

I would like to know the following:

1. Do you prefer entities instead of segments?

2. How about the wall meshes - rooms/wall segments or entities?

3. Textures - more abstract (like the screens) or a bit more realistic (concrete/metal)

1. We prefer both!
2. We like default wall and floor and custom wall and floors meshes.
3. More realistic textures.

Heh, the first thing that went through my mind when seeing the screens was "Sonic Adventure?". lol

Nice, funky look. Have them illumination mapped too and they'll look real cool.

Thanks for the comments.

@Darimc, thanks for the advice, I agree with that.

Quote: "one more C&C and then I won't bother you"

@Deathead, it would be boring without your comments and Constr. Crit.
Quote: "Its too bright "

I know. That's because it was a pure segment screenshot with no lights.
I've added some lighting btw (look at the screens in my 1st post), but it's only an idea how it could look like. Of course anybody can make it as bright/dark and funky as he/she wants (I am talking about the next sci-fi pack - the one I am going to release).

Quote: "on some models it has stretched textures. Just to let you know"

I know, that's how I wanted it for one of my games.

EDIT: Thanks a lot Tanya! Hope you have a great day!

Cheers!

Thanks guys!
As for the characters, I think it will be better to release a separate pack, let's say "Monster pack".
I am currently working on a gun pack, but I plan to finish "sci-fi pack 2" in 2 or 3 weeks.

Cheers!
