Hi there,

I'm new to the forums and FPSC but it is such an awesome program and I'm getting the hang of it now.

But when i preview a floor say the characters have no shadows, is there any way i can give them shadows just to add to the realism?

Thanks,
Puff

I think with an update of FPSC?

The problem is not if there isn't after-death-life. The problem is if there is no life in life!

If you mean the characters casting real shadows of themselves, forget it. Stencil shadow shading is CPU intensive, and would only kill your FPS more.

Although FPSC has beautiful shadows, they are created by the lightmapper, which creates the shadows before the game starts. for characters to cast shadows, they would have to be calculated live, which would require a shader.

The shadows can have only the non-animated objects. Characters can't have shadows.

SIXOFT - This is not just a game, this is a SIXOFT game.

Thanks for summarising exactly what I said johnny. Although congratulations on making a post that actually made sense.

I just realised, you could make better looking shadows by changing the image in the
gamecore\decals\blob\ folder.

if you replace the circle with say, a static human shadow, you would at least get some kind of human shadow. or you could make the blob totally transparent, which wouldn't give you shadows at all, but would at least get rid of the crappy round one!
