Haha not really... had to make them for my 3D Class and figured I hadnt posted here in a while so I'd stop by to say hello Anyhow, here it is, done in Maya 8.5 rendered in the OpenGL viewer (plain ol' perspective view..); both with their own 512x512 24bit .tga texture done in Photoshop. There arent any lights in the scene apart from the default ones, and both are low poly game asset models. This was a texturing assignment, as we all know how easy a crate & barrel are to model Also, the text on the objects is a -complete- joke!

Here are the UV's...

If anyone wants to actually use them as in game assets, lemme know and I'll upload the .x files and replace the text with whatever you want.

-John

Nice work. Even though they are easy to make but the texture on these really shows on the model

Heh yeah it was a texturing assignment, not a modelling assignment Also I forgot to mention, the text on the objects is a complete joke, if anyone would actually like to use these as game assets let me know, I'll upload some .x's and the textures.

Used a very, very dull grey wood and painted color & details in with Photoshop

The way the crates planks wrap to the other faces is perfect!

Thanks, I take great pride in my ability to create crates and barrels. That is my next AAA Title by the way, Crates & Barrels.

Wow, the first model I have seen of a crate that doesn't resemble a square thing made out of corn and grain, but yet a ...well ...Crate!
