Just an idea I had, as a ESRB rating costs loads of money for one game (4000$), but of course this has no advantege whatsoever, sure the player will know what he is dealing whit, but the creator of the game could simply rate it himself, and this will not help your games to the store shells.

I named it FORS, short for Free Online Rating System, but it could also be name UFRS, whatever floats your boat.

I dunno, I dunno if this is even intresting enough to make a thread about it, but I did it anyway.

any suggestions?

Its an intresting idea, but you will need a few people playing those games, so you can base your rate on several opinions.

I know, thats why I would give this in the hands of some other people.

I would give "Umbra" an 16+ whit - little bloodshell - strong violence - and - mild adult themes, while some may not agree whit me.

Yeah I know that one, but I didn't really like it becuse the user had to rate the game himself, the only thing TIGRS really made was a fancy picture, but it's better than nothing.

Yeah, if the creator know what content is in the game they can use that... But, if they don't and just wing it... They would be lying to the public.

Not exactly. TIGRS offers a complete rating system if you care to use it. The picture you use is just the end result, and probably the only thing people ever look at or are interested in. TIGRS has been around for years, and I see some software for sale online that uses the system. Starting something new that offers less, or even the same, would take years to gain the notoriety of TIGRS, small as it may be.

Quote: "This method will ask you to fill out a simple form and automatically generate the suggested rating based on the TIGRS™ rating specification. In addition, it will generate HTML code that you can easily copy and paste into your own website for instant utilization of the system."

If you take the time to fill out the form honestly, you would receive a rating based on the system, and not whatever you want it to be. Not perfect by any means, but a good system none the less.

Best.

A couple more facts:

A standard game submission to ESRB costs $4,000. We have a reduced rate of $800 for games with development costs below $250,000. the ESRB

Incense has IRGC already up and running.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Then I guess there is no reason to use it.
