Hi all.

For just a few days ago, I bought Dark GDK.Net. Before that, I was useing Dark Basic Professional (I do have an second account, but I made an small mistake and entered the wrong mail adress, I have several and the one I used for my previous account was my fathers, so I had to create an new account).
Anyway, I'm really interested in physX, and just want to ask, if it's possible to use the physX SDK in C# (which I'm useing) for physics in Dark GDK.Net? And how do I do that? How do I install the physX sdk for C#?

Take care,
Mr Z

P.S.
Please don´t say to me that I have to learn C++, unless there are absolutly no support at all for the physX sdk in C#. I have never really worked with that language (C++), and I don´t have the time to learn it (due to school). I want to be able to start directly with an language I know.

When your love leaves you, it hurt. But when she wants you back, when she reallize leaving you was an mistake, who am I not to take her back, if I still love her?

Mr Z - I "Hear" through the grape vine (many would say don't hold your breath) but TGC are supposedly working on making their DBPro addons work with DarkGDK (C++) and the DarkGDK.Net Products. So eventually - there will be something from TGC with any luck.

Many Physics engines - as you have eluded - required C++ knowledge. Lackof - C++ means a thunker is needed - AKA "Wrapper".

For any C# Physics libraries - or C++ libraries with C# wrappers already done for you - I can only hope others answer this thread with some links - but excluding that - I think a long round of Googling may be in order. Please post your findings back here for the next guy wanting to do the same thing

I see that ODE and Agiea PhysX seem to be the main stream choices - in fact I think DarkPhysics uses PhysX under-the-hood from a post/video demo I've seen.

Best of luck to you.

I think someone made a .NET dll for Newton physics. Do a search for it on the forums and you should find it.

Made some more extensive google searches, and found this:
http://forums.xna.com/thread/8479.aspx
Haven't tried it out yet, and the fact that it's for xna is annoying, sine I want to use it with Dark GDK.Net. But I'll give it a try, and then post back how well it works.

Anyway, if anyone knows of any other physics libraries for C# that will work with Dark GDK .Net, please post them. It would be nice with many alternatives, even if I would prefer to work with physX.

RPDan:
Will look it up. Thanks.
