It's very important for me to know it. If someone knows, please tell me. I'll be glad to hear that it will be increased soon, otherwise I'll not be interested in DarkBASIC Pro anymore.

In P5 there is direct access to vertex data apparently, so it should be much faster.

In the meantime, Patch 4.1 has added a very big increase for change mesh, have you tried Patch 4.1 Public Release?

Patch 6 will have the vertex access and is coming soon.

Yes, I'm using patch 4.1 ... big, but not enought for creating terrains using modern methods.

LoL! What do you mean?

Well, patch 5 or patch 6?

Its actually Patch 6. Most of Patch six is already finished with the exception of lightmaps, vertex access and major bug fixes. Other stuff like Nodetree(oct-trees) with advanced portals, CSG add/subtract/intersect is already in and working. Lightmaps and vertex access are the only things left for Patch 6 to complete, so it should come out soon after Patch 5.

Patch 5 contains some compiler fixes and other big bug fixes that need to be fixed, plus Direct X 9 support and full support for Nvidia's CG shaders as well as .FX Direct X 9 shaders.

Lee made the decision to put out patch 5 instead of putting everything in patch 5 he decided to update the aging DBPro language demo on the website with a DirectX 9 demo with all the goodies of shading of Nvidia's CG and Direct X 9 shaders plus a demo and rather save the other big features a few weeks later for Patch 6.

Its basically semantics and a few more weeks of waiting is what it means. The commands you want are coming, just coming in Patch 6 instead of Patch 5 basically.

Are you sure? The Vertex commands appeared to be already in the 3D DLLs from the SFX demo.

That demo was about pixel shading for DirectX 9 using .FX files. Nothing to do with low level vertex control. Mike will be working on the low level vertex support after Portals and lightmapping.

Because otherwise if they change their minds everybody throws their hands up in the air and slates them. It has happened before.
