I am happy to show you all a program I have been working on for the past few months.

The program is called Editology, it is a developer tool used for creating maps based from 16x16 tiles.

A very small sample of a map made with Editology. Here you can see the GUI and all the buttons and functions.

The tile Palette for easily selecting tiles. The tileset I was using is not finished and thats the reason for the black spaces at the end.

The same map with the Grid on.

All functions but a few work properly. The maps can be saved and loaded into your own games with a simple code. I am posting this for two reasons.

1.) To see if anyone would be interested in a program like this. (I know there are a whole bunch of 2D map editors out there. But this one is made in DBC, For DBC.)

2.) As you can see, my 2D art skills are not good. I find it difficult to create the tilesets as well as write the program and spend enough time on each to create the desired effect I want. So if anyone with decent 2D art skills is interested (mainly 16x16 sprites AND tiles), please let me know via this thread or e-mail to L3ladeKnight-at-gmail.com

I am still considering wheather or not to release this publicly. It was designed and created specifically for an upcoming game of mine. However, after spending so much time on it, I would hate to see it go to waste after using it for just my game. If anyone else would get any use out of a tool like this please let me know and it will help my decision.

Thank you,
/Dark

Thanks for the support!

I'm still in need of a 2D artist for this project if anyone is interested.

I was more worried about user compatiblity than anything with this. But now that I found TDk's file selector this should make things much easier.

I still would like to hear from anyone who would get some use out of a program like this.

Great.

The project is now in beta2 stage. The final beta will be public and should be released by the end of November.

Hey Everyone.
It's been a while since I've updated this thread. But I am still working very hard on Editology. A estimated release date, Screenshot of Beta 2, and more information about the project has been released on my website. Check it out to see more information about Editology.
