This is crazy man. Of all the problems I'm having with DBPro, most of them can be fixed by doing a fresh re-install. Well, now I seem to be having a problem completely preventing me from fixing my other problems. I can't uninstall it!!!

Here's what is says when I try to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs:

(Title bar) Error:CreateFile(C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER\LOCALS~1\Temp\set29.tmp)

(Message Box text) The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Now, I assure you, I have no process open that could possibly be using DBPro's uninstall file. I've tried using EndItAll v2.0 to end all unnecessary processes and it still won't work.

I'm on an hp pavilion 1.1 ghz celeron with a GeForce 4 MX 420 and Windows XP home edition.

Anyone have any ideas?

Why not just re-install over the top ? If not, you'll have to delete the temporary folders and try again.

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...

No idea, I have that problem too.
What I did was to delete the DBP directory, and all records in the registry, then install DBP to a different location.

For me, that sorted the bug problem, but didnt sort the whole uninstall business. Im gonna format my computer soon, so I'll see if that allows me to uninstall (after re-installing again lol)

Trowbee, mine has been doing it both before and after a reformat. I don't know what it is, but it's apparently consistant.

MrTAToad, it won't let me re-install from the CD, so I guess i'm gonna have to do it the hard way.

If it wont let you re-install, then get rid of everything in your temporary directories.

Well...I got it to re-install after a lot of regediting (before I saw the 2 above posts), and it still doesn't fix my problem on my other computer of not being able to run my program. Oh well, I'll keep on this computer for a while...(sigh).

Well, C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER\LOCALS~1\Temp\set29.tmp is a temporary file and could be there, when it shouldn't be.

If you're not on xp you could go into safe mode and delete it OR do it from command prompt.

It's better to be pissed off than pissed on, eh?

I had the same problem. You put in the CD and go to Setup and click Remove. The CD removes it.
