YAY! finally got db pro! well i have not been on the forums in a while and i've been scrating my head over a few questions. could some one clear them up?
1.With bsp collision, is sliding collision done for you?
2. What program compiles .bsp?
3.How do i use .FX files on objects?

The first thing you should do is download the latest update for DBP (click here) and make sure you have the latest version of DirectX.

It is also work getting the updates for the default IDE if you plan to use it (click here).

You can use the Hammer/Worldcraft editor to make BSP maps. And yes, it provides sliding collision.

FX files:
LOAD EFFECT Filename, Effect Number, Texture Flag
SET OBJECT EFFECT Object Number, Effect Number

All version of Half-Life use BSP maps.

What?

Also DBP has ditched support for most non Quake2 based BSP maps from what I recall so you're best off using 3D objects for everything, and Sparky's DLL for collision.

Ah, my bad then. I was under the impression that HL2 used another format. So then the whole angle problem might even be how HL read the maps. ^^
