Tommorow I'm getting a new vista PC as my current PC is out-dated and lags. every time I add a n AI controlled Character, the game drops to a frighteningly low 2-4 fps. so ya the only thing I need to no is will the FPS Creator run on windows Vista?

I find it doesnt work as well with vista. I've even tried changing the compatability mode. Building test games takes ages, seems to get stuck at "finishing threads". That's probably just me, but overall I'm finding alot of problems. I'd be interested in hearing how it runs on yours

I'm using Vista and FPSC seems to run fine without a problem. After installing it, I suggest going to the "FPS Creator" folder (in Program Files\The Game Creators) and setting admin mode and XP sp2 mode on all the .exe's in that folder (right click->properties) and it should run fine.

I'm running Vista as well and FPSC works the same for me on Vista as it did on XP. And I changed all the.exe's compatablity mode to XP service pack 2 just like olliday said above, and how much ram you have has alot to do with performace the more RAM the better because Vista is memory hungry, I'm running 4 gigs of DDR2 667 MGZ in my PC.

make the application think its runing on xp basicly, it makes vista try to handle the application as much like xp would as possible

Thanks

Thanks guys

Yeh, setting it to compatability with XP is very helpful. I had the bioshock demo and it played with no sound. I change compatability and it worked like a treat.

You must also set administrator mode or your built game won't appear in the folder.

FPSC works perfectly on my Vista without any change in settings.

Combatibility Mode = OFF
Run As Administrator = OFF
FPSC Folder Security settings = Default

Am I the only one?

Make sure you install Direct X 9c on your system this is all I had to do and it runs fine. I also think if you have a top end PC it helps a lot, I'm running 4 gig ram, dual quad core, vista home premium.

WHAT! you have two quad core processors... is that really necessary plus your video card makes much more difference to FPSC than the processor or Ram and definatly more than the operating system
