I know there are lots of water shaders out there. But what I am looking for is one thats not crystal clear and thats not reflective.I need something that looks like sewer water. Is there any shaders or examples for download that have water like this?

Actually, even sewer water is reflective. But I guess it's the amount of reflection you want.

Anyway, I think it mostly could be done by changing the textures used by the shader.

Does anyone know where I can get a water shader that uses textures? The only water shaders that I have been able to find just have bump textures for waves and no texture for the water so its hard to change the color and reflectiveness of the water when it doesn't have any textures.

Where'd you get that shader? Might be what I'm looking for.

And the water shader I'm currently using was found by searching for "water shader" on this forum, hehe. ^^

you could just use a water shader that uses a cubic texture and just replace that with a dirt/mud texture. It would do exactly what you want.

Do you know where I can get one like that? The shader that I was using was evolves. But the only texture it has is just the bump texture for the waves.

There is a search feature at the bottom of this forum. Just search for water shader. You'll find tons of results I'm sure.

I already did that and didn't find anything. Why else would I be asking? PS. I am not demanding I am asking nicely.

I thought up another way I could do this. Try to change the ambient color of the shader to a brownish color. However I have not been able to find any water shaders that give you this option. Anyone know were I could get one please?

You could try making the required changes to the shader code yourself ...

... and then come back when you get stuck.

Looks like another query for the long-overdue shader challenges thread ...

I would do that except that the only programing I know is DBP! Any other programing language for me is the same thing as me trying to speak another language besides english. Its almost impossible!
Mike Inel just made one for me and uploaded it to the learning shaders thread. Its what I was looking for so no more help is needed for now. But thanks to evreyone who tried!
