I think the experience should take longer to cause a level increase as time goes on... right?

I wasn't sure about that, I'll try it that way around

This was really an experiment to see how easily people get hooked on level increasing games
but I don't think I gave enough purpose to increasing levels.

I'm wondering if you could actually make an entertaining game just from mouse clicks? If enough unique things happened and it built up as you went on it could be fun
I think it would have to be unique every time you played so maybe it would take into account how fast you clicked the mouse or where on the screen the pointer was. And what would happen that would be interesting to the player?

I'm trying to do a DS port of it at half-resolution (128x96), but it's not terribly good.

Hehe. That's surprisingly addictive. You could add monsters that try to stop you clicking or something. Each level you gain could destroy one of them!

That has me so confused.

So you're trying to be cool huh? Well here's something: When people offend other people by calling their stuff lame, when they joined on the very day after that they joined, we don't call them cool, we call them Noobs.
So shush, and before you call anyones work lame, you try to code something even as simple as this!

Here's a new clicking game that actually has a purpose.
I call it Vanishing Point: a small circle will move across the screen, right click to switch it's movement between horizontal and vertical. You earn clicks by clicking the mouse, but you must click when the circle is inside the red boundaries or you will lose. Each time you click inside the boundaries the current boundaries will shrink to your click position.
It's much simpler to just play it

my best was 25 clicks!

Actually, you can make an entertaining game even without mouse clicks! You ever played Progress Quest? It's an RPG game based on the same principle as your game (and as all the RPGs out there ), you just don't need to click anything

Take a look at it, it's pretty old and there are already thousands of addicted:

Yeah but it is more complicated.

My goal with the cellular stuff is to make a game in which everything is "living", you could dig holes in the ground, swim underwater, if you don't like swimming you could even drain all the water out

I made an attempt at making a character, but making multi-cellular objects is hard and I haven't worked it out yet.

I have a huge problem with cellular programs though, I can't have a world larger than about 160x100 or the FPS dies, can anyone help improve this? I would love to have a world that could fill the screen (without scaling )

You are processing each cell every time. Makes Sense. But if you had some logic so that Not Every Cell Was Updated Every loop - you might squeeze a bigger play scape for your cells

@JP
I suppose I could do something like that, I did consider it but then thought there would be situations when ALL cells would have to be checked so I left it.

I'll give it a shot, haven't coded anything for AGES!
