I'm programming a game, and my friend is making the 3d models for it in 3DS max.

I was wondering if there was a way to do accurate mesh to mesh collisions.

From looking around the forums I'm getting the general idea that there isn't (i.e., expressions like "object hit" do not work with two polygons), but I was wondering if there is a way to do this, even if its a dll. If so what dll's do you guys suggest?

Dynamic Mesh to Dynamic Mesh is definitely not something that you would normally see, due to the intensive maths behind working it out dozens/hundreds of times a second.

Most collision systems use a combination of sphere / box / convex collision, which you'll find in basic DB Pro, and more advanced versions in plugins like Nuclear Glory, Newton and Dark Physics.

Also...does your friend know that models for games should be much lower poly than standard models for rendering / animation?

What kind of game are you programming, get rid of the need for mesh to mesh collisions if you can.
