Hiya folks. So.. are we all excited now that the C++ version has been released with 2008? .... Good!!

I recently mentioned in another thread that I would release my source for Red Nose Asteroids. Well, here it is. The source is designed to be compiled with the latest 1.0.9.0 version of DarkGDK.NET, but it also delves into how one can make use of the XML and OOP functionality of Visual Basic.NET.

There are some generic classes in the project such as CAssets, CNode, CDBObject, CDBImage, CAudio, CMusic etc. But I've also derived game specific classes such as CRock, CShip, CExplode etc.

The general idea with me releasing this software, is to be able to shead some useful information and source for your own purposes in developing your games with DarkGDK.NET. The EXE is also provided with all the Assets required to run the game, and feel free to use any of the code. I'd be very interested in hearing of any projects that use some or all of the classes.

Any comments, questions, problems or critisism, please post fourthwith.

Paul.

It's obviously not perfect as it was done to meet the RND deadline, but hopefully, some of the code will help.

I've played it a lot after I got the Red Nose Games Package! Didn't look at the code but, isn't it something like my LightEngine? Nah, I'll just download it and take a look soon. YAY!

kBessa - It could be funny to rewrite it to LightEngine..

I was looking in the tutorials for GDK... I wonder if its allowed for us to rewrite them to LightEngine
